their golden wedding auniversary
Sunday afternoon at one o'clock.
Fifty years ago in Centre Hall, Penn-
sylvania, Miss Sarah Amelia Arney,
oldest of the six daughters of Jacob
sud Rachel Arney was married to
Henry Dasher by Rev. W. H. Groh
Ihe bride’s oldest brother, Joho J.
Arpney, who was present on the suni-
versary, acted as best man on that
happy occasion and later married the
bridesmaid, Miss Sallie Bweetwood,
Four sisters were present, Mrs, C, E
Peck, of Sylvan Grove, Kansas, Mrs.
James P, Hering, of Altoona, Mrs.
Laura Lee, of Centre Hall and Mrs.
John F. Mullen, of Pittsburg, Pennp-
sylvania,

Michigan and lived at Edwardsburg
until 1853. Afier a short residence a
South Bend, Indians, they came to
Kalamszoo in the spring of 1887.

New County Officers, \
"On the first day of the New Year all
the county officers elected at the No-
vember election took the oath of office.
The county oMoers now acting are all
Democrats, except Commissioner Ja-
enb Woodring, and Auditor G. W.
Goes, who are Republicans, Prothon-
tary Foreman will not appoint a depu-
ty. Treasurer Miller has the tempo-
rary sssistance of former Treasurer (G.
W. Rumberger, but later ex pects to
take care of the office himself, Ho-
mer J, Decker, second clerk under the
retired board of county commissioners,
will be retained until the new clerk be-
comes acquainted with the business
in detall in commissioners’ office. The
officers will all hold ofMoe for a term of
four years, and together with their
clerks or deputies and attorney are
named below :

Mr. and Mrs, Hetrick and J. R.
Longwell were returning home from
Bellefonte, sud at a poiut near to

when Mr. Hetrick unbuttoned his
coat, got his watch, and at that in-
stant he was stricken with appoplexy,
