Bparks, president of Pennsylvania State College, recently met with a numver of prominent Presbyterians at Uanlon League, Philadelphia, where Alba B. Johnson was host at luncheon. Rev. Dr. Richard C. Huges, of Mad- ison, Wisconsin, secretary of the Presbyterian board of education, out- lined the work of the board in con- nection with the development of re- ligious education in state-aided insti. tutions of higher education and em- phasized the point that there are now 108 000 students attending such state- aided schools and colleges of higher education who are directly affected by the lack of proper and adequate facili- ties for continuing their church rela- tions and advancing in religious edu- cation. 8. 8. Chapman, counsel for the board of education, discussed the legal and finapelal status of the arrange- ment entered into by the synod, the State College Presbyterian church and the board of education, in which the three parties are bound to raise $75,000 for the erecting and endowment of the proposed church at State College which is to be especially charged with the responsibility of caring for the 400 sons of Presbyterian parents in the college there. The preseut church seats legs than 200 and the residents of State College other than students who attend this church tax its utmost | capacity, leaving no place of worship for the 400 Presbyterian students who would like to attend.
