Ammon Burkholder returned to
Philipsburg, New Jersey, after a,
week's vacatdon. He is a brakeman
on a freight at present, but is looking
forward to becoming a conductor on a
passenger train, and is now on the
regulation way of attaining that
position,
Home farmers are cutting their
stubble flelds and are making hay of
rank growth of clover. There
are many flelds in which the clover is
more than a foot high, It is a ques
tion with the farmers whether it is ad-
visable to cut it or leave it on the
fields to rot down during the winter,

Receipts at the gate, $67,000 ; sauer-
kraut consumed, twenty tons ; frank-
furters and other ments eaten, 60,000
pounds ; attendance on Thursday,

General James A, Beaver is back
from Asia Minor and North Africa
where he made a trip inspecting mie
sion fields. He left the states about
three months ago, his objective point
being Edinburgh, to attend a mis
slonary conference. The General re-
turned home in fine physical con-
dition,
