Allrad Rupp had leg Broken,
Alfred Rupp, of Boalsburg, met
with an accident, Ba turday forenoon
that resulted in breaking the bone in
one of his legs, about four inohes
above the knee, He was driving across
the iron bridge at Oak Hall Btation,
when his horse slipped and fell. Mr,
Rupp alighted from the vehicle, and
in doing so also fell. The horse in his
struggles to arise, struck Mr. Rupp,
with the result mentioned above, Dr.
Kidder reduced the fracture.

Mrs, Manasses Gilbert returned home
from a week's visit with relatives st
Livonia.
J. N. Meyer is at present applying a
coat of paint to his dwelling house,
Mrs. C. M. Gramuley is at present in
a hospital, at Philadelphia, where she
is receiving treatment for a growth on
her neck.
Clarence Weber and George Wetzel,
both students, are spending their va-
cation at this place under the parental
roof.
One day this week the stork visited
the home of Charles Page and left a
baby girl
Harry Corman is at present plying
the paint brush on his father’s resi-
dence. Harry is quite a painter,
0, F. Btover, who several weeks
ago was to the Lock Haven hospital,
and had a finger amputated, and who
had returned, was again compelled to
return to the same place for treatment.
Mr, Stover suflered considerable pain
in his hand, and blood poison was
threatening; thus making it necessary
to return to the hospital.
Lee Kidder, of Pittsburg, is at pres
ent visiting in town.
The baseball team of this place will
hold a festival on June 15th, on the
school ground, of this place. Ice
cream and other refreshments ‘will be
served.
The following teachers have been
elected to teach the schools at this
place for the coming winter term:
Primary, T. A. Auman; Iater-
mediate, C. C. BEmull ; Grammar,
Prof. Bamuel Bilerly. The high
school is not supplied.

The newspapers published Mr.
Emery’s announcement as a pure busi,
ness matter, but at the same time the
views held by Mr, Emery are more ac-
ceptable than those of many Republi-
cans we know of. As for Mr Patton,
he is an unknown quantity.
Farmers’ lostitates in Centre County,
The committer to select places for
the meetioge of the Farmers Insti-
tutes under the Department of Agri-
culture, consisting of Willard Dale,
representing the Pomona Grange, and
Col. W. F. Reynolds, representing the
Centre County Agricuiture Exhibiting
Boclety, together with the county rep-
resentative on the State Board of Agri-
culture, met at Col. Reynold’s office
last Baturday morning to select places
for holding the meeting next winter.
The places chosen are Eagleville,
Unionville and Pleasant Gap. This is
a good distribution of these important
meetings and will tend to advance the
conditions of sgricuiture in Bald Eagle
Valley. Particulars as to dates and
speakers cannot be given until the De-
partment at Harrisburg issues its an-
nual institute bulletin in the early
fall,
