learn that there is at least one dreaded dis-
ease that science has been able to cure in all
its stages, and thatisCatarrh. Hall's Catarrh
Cure is the only positive cure now known to
the medical fraternity. Catarrh being a con-

treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken inter-

the patient strength by t 1g up the con-

Ravages Of The Sea.
The engineers of the United States
Coast Burvey who mapped the coast
of Long Beach for 12 miles south
of Barnegat Inlet In 1839, found up-
on going over the ground In 1871
that the sea in 32 years had advane-
ed inland an average of 545 feet for
the entire distance, and in some
places as much as 930 feet. Also
they found that beginning at the
mouth of Dennis Creek in Cape May
County, the sea had swallowed 2.-
310 feet of that stream and 1,880
feet of East and West Creeks. All
this happened a generation ago.

William Whittaker Dies In His Cell
In Sunbury.
Sunbury (Special). -— Death
cheated the gallows and snatched a
convicted murderer from the waiting |
noose when William Whittaker, con-|
victed of murdering his wife, died
very suddenly in his cell at the coun- |
ty jail. Whittaker was married to |
a young lady of Mt. Carmel, but
owing to his abuse his wife left him |
and returned to her parents. Whit-}
taker coaxed her to come back tol
him and when she refused he took |
his razor and went to her parents’|
home, He led her into the parlor]
and when she again refused to live
with him, he cut her throat.
At the trial an effort was made by |
Whittaker's attorneys to prove him!
insane, at the time of the crime, but
the effort fell flat and the jury did
not consider the insanity plea agree-
ing in a few minutes on first degree
murder. A new trial had been de-
nied the murderer and he was to be
called before Judge Savidge during
the present term of court and the
death penalty imposed
On Tuesday afternoon he was tak-
en ill suffering from acute indiges-
tion, but his condition was not con-
sidered serious. A doctor was call-
ed and his treatment gave relief.
A half hour later he was found ly-
ing on his cot dead.
