Capt. “Jack” Ross Cremated.
Celburne, Texas (8pecial). ~The char.
red body of Capt. “Jack” Ross, a former
Confederate and pioneer in this section,
was found in the embers of what was
once his house, three miles from this
city. He lived alone, and it is suspected
that he was cremated by robbers. A
safe containing about $500 was found
and showed that the knob had been

New York (Special) Francis Scott,
six years old, great-grandson of the au-
thor of “The Star Spangled Banner,”
died at the home of his parents, 133
South Fifth Avenue, Mount Vernon.
