The fact that

s the best guarantee that he will be
aithful with larger and more responsible duties.
There is one thing that should commend Mr. J
one in the county. Upon the death of his father some years ago, the
support of his mother and sister devolved upon him. Faithfully and
tenderly has he cared for and supported them, consuming for this pur.
pose his entire income and sacrificing home and family of his own that
they might be comfortable.
From all we know of Mr. Jackson in the past, his conduct,
promptness and faithfulness, we are assured that as register of the coun-
ty and clerk of the Orphan's Court he will be an honor to the party
and a credit to the county. .
JOHN C. ROWE, FOR RECORDER.
And here we are now with a candidate tried and true in the
person of John C. Rowe, who having served one term as Recorder was
as a matter of course entitled to and received at the hands of his party
a renomination. By this time everybody ought to know Mr. Rowe, at
least everybody who has had any business with the recorder or in his
office during the last three years,
If they have been there and seen or met Mr. Rowe they have
both seen and met a gentleman. It is conceded that in his intercourse
with people in both his official and private capacity Mr. Rowe has
always been the genial, kindly, considerate gentleman,
In the transaction of his duties he has been very careful, faith-
ful and prompt. In life and character he is pure and upright, and as
for his qualifications and fitness for the office we take no Pa In the
three years or nearly so that he has been recorder he has beyond ques-
tion demonstrated his absolute fitness for tho place. To do anythi
else than re-elect Mr. Rowe would be a disgrace to the people
the county.
