York, where they will take the steam-

Miss Esther Kaup and sister Hattie

Mrs. Laura Bricker visited
mother at Unionville, last week.
Mrs. William Fortney, of Allegheny
county, is visiting her aged mother,

Alfred Rupp and T. R. Weber, of
Company B, Home Guards, returned
from the encampment at Erie.
Miss Priscilla Stuart is visiting at
Bandy Ridge.
W. A. Baumgardner while at Phila-
delphia bought an automobile and

Miss Peterkin, of New York, demon-
strated the goods prepared by the
National Biscuit Company at W. H.
Stuart's store Monday and Tuesday.
Mrs. John Kimport spent a day at
the home of her parents, at Fairbrook.
Wallace Musser and sou put a new
roof on J. P. Weber's shop.
Mrs. George Fisher and son Harold
are spending the week in Bellefonte,
B. E. Weber was in Altoona among
friends a few days.
H. N. Meyer, of Millheim, made a
trip through here last week in the in-
terests of the Penn Mutual Life In-
surance Co., and spent a portion of the
time calling on friends.
Rev. A. A. Black is taking a few
weeks’ rest from his pastoral labors.
Mrs. Robert MeCrae, with her little
daughter, Elizabeth, of Bellevue Sta-
tion, Pittsburg, is visiting her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. 8. H. Bailey,
Miss Clara Rishel, of State College,
is spending the summer with her
mother.
A number of young people from the
Branch, Oak Hall, Linden Hall and
Boalsburg took a drive to Penn’s Cave
Baturday,

spending several weeks among rela-
tives hereand in Bellefonte, returned
to their home at Derry, Saturday.
Mrs. J. H. Ross and children return-
ed from Braddock, where they visited

were accompanied by Ralph and Alka
Musser who will spend a few months
here.
James Raymond has been ill for the
past few weeks, but is now able to be
around,
Mrs. Lizzie Noll spent last week
with friends here.
William Cole paid a farewell visit to
his sister, Mrs, J. H. Weibly, before
leaving for Tahlequah, Indian Terri-
tory, where he will take charge of a
large grist mill,
John Rossman, who was a student
in the railroad station here, under Mr,
Bradford, has now a position in the
station at Lemont. There Is now an
opening for a bright, capable young
man who wants to learn telegraphy,
and any one wanting the position
should apply soon to P. C. Bradford.

Malcolm P, Campbell and Charles
Vonada, of Lewisburg, spent Sunday
with friends in this place.

The family of Hon, Leonard Rhone
spent Mrs. Rhbone's birthday at the
old homestead, Rhoneymede, south of
Ceutre Hall. It was Mrs. Rhone's
first trip out of town since her serious
illness,
Miss Vera Fertig, daughter of W, H.
Fertig, of Philipsburg, who had gone
to the Pacific const to regain her
health, died at Riverside, California,
The body was shipped to Pottaville
