Extending Tram Road,
The work of extending the railroad
of the White Deer Lumber company
from the Tea Spring west to Carroll,
was commenced recently, Whitmer
& Company are st the head of the

ployed. J. A. Bhalter, of Laurelton,
is superintendent of construction, The
company is considering the possibility
of extending the road to Loganton

At the advanced age of eighty-four
years, the death of Bamuel Wirts oe-
curred at the home of his son-in-law,
Thomas Garvin, at Dupgarvin, Hunt-
ingdon county. The deceased for
muny years lived at Houserville, his
trade being that of a weaver, Bur-
viving him are four children: John
Wirts, Bellwood ; Mrs, Thos, Dewey,
Dungarvio ; Mrs. George Wolf, Al-
toona ; Irvin Wirts, Houserville. Two
brothers : Philip Wirts, Houserville :
Joseph Wirts, an invalid ; and two
sisters : Mrs. Wm. Gross, Patton twp.
and Mrs. Robert Bierly, Milesburg.

Merchant Meyer's Mishap
Merchant William H. Meyer, of
Centre Hall, had the mishap to fall
from a step ladder Monday evening.
He was cleaning the ceiling of the

able reason, possibly dizziness, he fell
backward to the floor,
