An article was widely published
throughout Pennsylvania stating that
owing to a law passed by the state
legislature during the civil war and
not repealed, all Pennsylvania soldiers
enlisted in the Spanish war would be
entitled to a bounty of $2000, led an
interested citizen Centre Hull to
make inquiry through the adjutant
general's office at Harrisburg, as to the
truth of the same,

D. C. Kennedy, of Erie, Pa, is the
guest of Hon, L. Rhoue, in this place,
Mr. Kennedy is one of the pillars of
the Grange in the northwestern part
of the state, and for a namber of years
served as chairman of the Sate
Grange Executive committee. He is
