Bankey, of Potters Mills, this week starts for Vernon, Woodson county, Kansas, where he will engage in farming. The community will greatly fils such a worthy young man, and the community in which he settles will gain an excellent citizen. This condition is very favorable to crop growing later on in the season. Last spring the early rains fell on froz- en ground, the soil receiving no bene- fit whatever from them, which caused the growing crops during May to suf- fer greatly.
