Mrs. John Rossman, of near Penns
Cave, who received a severe paralytic
stroke about two weeks ago which ren-
dered her speechless, and her right
side useless, is slowly recovering under
the treatment of Dr. Lee, The patient
is advanced in years and will require
considerable time and nursing to
recover.

A Visit from Former Pupils.
Some years since the pastor of the
Presbyterian church, Rev. W. H,
Behuyler, his wife, her sister and moth-
er, were all engaged in conducting the
Lewistown Academy. They are now
spending the summer together at the

Two Tramps Arrested Below Coburn on the
Charge of Robbing the Post Office
that several suspicious-looking tramps
had been seen in the vicinity of Mill-

with the hope of catching the tramps
home, where about fifty invited guests
had assembled. The bridal party con-
sisted of the bride and groom, Miss
Pearl Riter as bridesmaid, and John
Miller as groomsman, aud presented a
fine appesrance as they stood before
the minister, The bride and brides-
maid were both dressed in white or-
gandie. After the ceremony the new-
ly married couple received the hearty
congratulations of the guests, This
unoruing they started on a wedding
trip to Philadelphia, Atlantic City,
Cape May and other points, and will
ba gone about ten days. After they
return home they will at go to

MUSICAL NORMAL.

The people of the community seem
to appreciate the importance of having
a permanent musical normal in this
place, as a number of our musical peo-
ple have urged Prof. Zeigler to open a
school of that kind. Jo order to meet
the desire of the people, Prof
Zeigler has decided to here
permanently and to establish a Nor-
mal. The first term will open in April
and the second term sometime during
the summer. The six weeks’ session
which will close on next Saturday,
has been conducted very successfully
and the patrons are well pleased with

No Change in Insurance Rate.
The question discussed in Centre
County Pomona Grange, relative to
increasing the tax rate of insurance
where buildings are not protected by
lightning rods, resulted in the meas
ure being indefinitely postponed. The
Grange Insurance Company is doing
an extensive business, and has had the
good fortune to have a very low rate of
insurance, The company officials con-

manner, pay their losses quickly and
do not quibble in making adjustments,
all of which greatly aids in building
up the business of the concern,

Seriously Kicked by a Horse,
Philip Leister met with a serious ac
