Anditors Who Audit
The Blair County Auditors, in their
report filed on 3, surcharge the Coun-
ty Commissioners with £300 alleged to
have been improperly expended.
The Auditors cut down the commis- |
gions of the County Treasurer, John
T. Akers, from 3 per cent. to 2 per et.
The preceding Treasurer received 3 per |
cent.
Some labor under the mistaken opin-
jon that the only duty of Auditors is |
to see that accounts are added up cor-
rectly. Auditors must reject every im-
proper item and cut down unreasona-

Made ap Corn,
Gullible farmers of Allen county, O.,
have been buncoed by a swindler who ;
went through the country exhibiting |
an enormous ear of corn, from which
he sold choice kernals at choice prices
for seed. The ear was made from sev- |
eral smaller ears carefully cut up and
ingeniously glued together in the nat- |
ural form of a bigear. There is always |
some one, it seems, getting up a new i
swindle upon the farmer. It's a pity |
that more of this breed of kittens do
not get to the penitentiary.
