Will Drill to Go Deeper,
A meeting of the Clinton county gas |
and oil company was held on Satur- |
day afternoon to consider the advisa-
bility of drilling the test well in Galla-
her township to a depth of 3,500 feet.
When the drilling was suspended on
Friday evening the well was 3,007 feet
deep and the drill was working in
hard rock. It was decided at the mee-
ting to continue the drilling until a
depth of 3,500 feet is reached unless
gas or oil is found at a less depth. —CL

A Needed Parchase,
Our esteemed town council has done
wisely in purchasing a volume on bor-
ough laws, and we are in hopes will
do what is wiser yet, study it. Here
after we expect to see all done in ac-
cordance with law, and errors of the
past will be forgiven. The past
ing has been like that of the mariner
without a compass. Throw aside fa-
voritism and all feeling to be unfair,
follow the law and the sath, and all
will be happy yet.
