Rev. Dr. Philip Schaff,
on exegesis and chureh history, died
Friday morning at his home in New
York. Paralysis was the
cause of his death. Dr. Schaff' took

Two More Prisoners Take French
From The Jail.

prisoners made their escape from the
county jail, at Bellefonte, making
their exit from the same hole Freeman
and Johnston escaped through just
one week previous. The hole in the
wall had been filled up and it was no
matter for the prisoners to remove the
stone from the fresh morter and get
into the jail yard. For sculing the
wall ropes were used, which had been
procured in some manner. One of the
prisoners was Samuel Meese, who was
serving a nine months sentence for as-
sault and battery.
The jail birds have not yet been dap-
tured by the Sheriff.
