Miss Katie Gingerich, of near Lock
Haven, spent Sunday at this place at
the home of J. T. Garthofl.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Rishell, of this
place, and Dr. G. 8. Frank and wife,
of Miltheim, left on Tuesday evening
for the World's Fair, and will be gone
about two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Hosteiman at-
tended the funeral of their niece, Miss
Vonoda, daughter of Jeremiah Vona-
da, of near Woodward, which took
place on Wednesday, Miss Vonada
was an only daughter, about eighteen
Years old, and much respected by all
who knew her. She was stricken
with that dread disease scarlet fever,
and lived a few days only after the at-
tack. Her mother preceded her to the
grave only a few years ago.
The festival on Saturday evening
netted the P. O, 8B. of A,, of this place
nearly fifty dollars.
The “merry-go-round’’ was taken to
Bellefonte, from this place, on
Monday.
A festival will be held in the rear of
the Lutheran church on Saturday af-
ternoon and evening, June 17, 18963.
The proceeds will be used to help lig-
uidate the debt still resting on the
church.

Commissioner Batchelder, the man-
