Applicants for the PostoMice Springing Up
Every Day.
Since the government passed into
the hands of the Democrats, and a
change will be made in the pestaguster-
ship at Centre Hall, the applicants for
the same are becoming numerous, and
new ones are heard of almost every
day. The number of those who have
already filed their claims with con-
gressman Kribbs, number about eight,
and each one is assured that his claim
is the best and that he shall have the
pleasure of handing out the mail to his
competitors. A great rivalry exists
between several of the candidates and
they are losing much sleep over the
appointment.
As the appointment, according to
the rule of President Cleveland which
allows officials to fill out their full
terms, will not be made until July,
several months intervene before the
political plum will be knocked off the
tree, ahd the boys are causing them-
selves much needless early anxiety.
They had better keep on their pants
yet awhile, or the early trouble will in-
capacitate them from serving in the
official position as postinaster,

Sixty Million Bushell of Wheat A Bushel
for every Inhabita nt of the United
States. The Kansas Crop
of '92,
Never in the history of Kansas has
that state had such bountiful crops as
his year. The farmers cannot get
enough hands to harvest the great crop
and the Santa Fe Railroad has made
special rates from Kansas City and
other Missouri River towns, to induce
harvest hands to go into the statt.
The wheat crop of the state will be
from sixty to sixty-five million bushels
and the quality is high. The grass
crop is made, and is a very large one;
the early potatoes, rye barley and oat
crops are made and are all large. The
weather has been propitious for corn
and its the cleanest, best looking
corn to be found in the country to-day.
Cheap rates will be made from Chicago
St. Louis and all points on the Banta
Fe east of the Missouri River, to all
Kansas points, on August 30 and Sep
tember 27, and these excursions will
give a chance for eastern farmers to
see what the great Sunflower State can
do. A good map of Kansas will be
mailed free upon application to Jno.

Died at Boalsbarg.
Mr. Wash Williams, a highly re-
spected citizen of Boalsburg, died at
his home on Tuesday evening from a
complication of diseases. He had not
been in the best health for some time,
but was not confined to his bed and
was able to teach school up to Friday
His sickness assumed a serious turn on
Saturday and he gradually grew worse
until Tuesday evening, when the end
came. He had long suffered from dia-
betis, but stoically withstood the rav-
ages of the disease until his demise.
Mr. Williams was one of the oldest
school teachers in the county and was
very popular,
