A limited number of horses affected
with any of the common diseases, such
as Splint, Spavin, Curb, Ringbone,
Wind-galls, Worts, Sprains, diseases
of the feet, ete., ete, will be treated
free of charge, at stated times within
the next few weeks, by the Penna.
State College.
A thoroughly competent veterina-
rian, Dr. Leonard Pearson, of the Uni-
versity of Pennsylvania, has been em-
ployed to deliver a course of lectures to
the agricultural students of the Col-
lege and these ciniecal subjects are de-
sired to illustrate to the College Class-
es the methods of treatment, ete. Dr.
Pearson will perform all operations
himself and only a limited number of
animals will be needed.
Parties wishing to avail themselves
of this offer will write to Prof. H. J.
Waters at the College at once, giving
full particulars as to the disease, its de-
velopement, ete. They will then
ceive due notice of the time their ani-
mal will be treated with any other di-
rections that may be necessary.

The city and borough school superin-
tendents of the state will meet at Har-
risburg in annual convention, Jan.
and 26. Among the subjects discussed
will be “Educational Waste Place,”
“Needed Legislation” * Readjustment
of studies in Graded Schools,” ‘Free
Text Books for the High Grades," and
“Our High Schools in their,Relation to
Colleges.”

Store Burned.
On Wednesday morning the large
general store of Robert Gray at Storms
town, was burned to the ground to-
gether with all its contents. The store
was connected with the dwell ing
house, which with household goods
