A Woman Suleldes.
On Sunday morning, at Curwens-
= ville, Kate Star, a domestic, suicided
Just at what hour is not known. She
was found dead in bed. She passed
over by the strychnine route, but for
what reason is not exactly known.
She had gone shopping to Clearfield
on Saturday afternoon, and when she
returned she was in company with a
young man named John Tate. His
evidence before the coroner's jury was
to the effect that he was with her up
till late that night, and when he left
the house she appeared in good spirits,
He had noticed that she had three
packages, which she laid down on the

them he noticed a small envelope
which was marked with a skull and
cross bones and in red ink, poison, and
also the word strychnine. A druggist
who had put up a preseription for her
on that day says that he put up no
such poison for her, but did put up a
medicine on prescription for her which
was intended for heart disease, and
which did contain poison, but on ex-
amination it was discovered that she
had taken one of this medicine. The
envelope that Young Tate saw could
not be found at first, but afterward
portion of the same was found im-
mediately under her window partially
