A DRUGGIST'S DE: SPERATE FIGHT.
Indianapolis, Dee. 30.—Luther Cline, a
droggist at Broad Ripple, to-night killed
one of two desperadoes who attacked
him and his wife just after closing his
store for the night, One decoyed Cline
into his store, 6nd the other passed into
the family room where the wife was sit-
ting. Cline, as he reached the store,
Jooked back and saw his wife struggling
with villian No.2, who was apparently
choking her to death,
When Cline attempted to go to her as-
sistance villian No. 1 shot him in the
head and then closed with him, grabbing
him around the neck and shooting asec
ond time. The shot missed its mark.
Finally Cline secured the pistol, and shot
his assailant through the head, killing
him instantly. The accomplice fled, and
gearch is being made for him. Cline is
shot in the fuce, the ball passing in under
the mouth,

The most extraordi nary
fecundity that I ever heard of came

from here, is the historleal city of Nocera

Granata bas given birth to, either dead or
alive, 02 children, 49 of whom were
males. She enjoys florid health, is ro-
bust, and 24 hours after her iast ac-
couchment was ready to go out to her ac.
castomed labor in the field. Her phy-
sician, Rephael de Sauctis, says that
there is not the least exaggeration
these statements. Has any one
heard of such pnenomenal facandit
