J.,) “Daily Gazette,” of 13, says : Rev, Mr. Harpster, pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church, and for- merly missionary to India, is being urged by the Lutheran Board of Foreign Mis. sions to return to that country. The rev erend gentleman lived seven years in India, learned the language and preached the Gospel in their own tongue to the natives. He endeared himself to hune dreds of them, and he is in receipt now and then of little missives from them, written in their own language, begging him to come back to them, e vacancy he created by coming here has never been quite filled, and the Foreign Board are extremely anxious that he shall re. turn to his labors there, He favors the idea himself, but is holding the matter in abeyance. rl » >» - NOTICE. Thompson, of Potter's Mills, had a paralytic stroke, a short time ago, and is slowly recovering. Weather has moderated again with indications for rain.
