From the Philipsburg Journal we
tice that the people of that place and
section held a meeting one day last
eek for the formation of a new county
out of parts of Clearfield and Centre,
with Philipsburg for the county seat.
This would, no doubt, be a convenient
thing for the people of that section, and
a eaviog of time now lost in getting to
the county seat. We do not know that
there should be any special reason for us
over bere to object to our neighbors away
nit there cutting loose, as it has often
been a source of complaint that a large
portion of court costs are from that sec-
ion. Philipsburg would certainly be a
very credible county seat,

or day, the best place for genuine goods

A musical conference was held at
Sunbury on Tuesday, 6th, com of
delegates from musical societies, with a
view to the formation of a permanent
Central Penn's Musical Association. It
is intended to hold a grand musical jubi-
lee in June, under the instruction of
Prof, W. 0. Perkins. The rehearsals for
this occasion will be held by each socie-
ty in ila own locality, to be visited by
Prof. Perkins, when ail will join in one
grand festival at the place to be desig-
nated by the delegates at Sunbury, on
Tuesday. J. W. Wolf represented the
singers of Centre Hall in the above
named conference.

turned out of his sleigh, the horse was

Wm. W. Nees is making preparations
to build a new house on his farm, he dog

built last summer.
D. J. Musser is reliring from farming
and is getting ready to build a new house
on a lot of his farm.
Wm. Heckman is getting the material
ready to remodel his barn with a new
