The work in Paddy mountain tunnel is
progressing at the rate of 8 feet per day
from one side—the length will be 2CO feet,
of which 60 feet are opened, so a work
man informs us.

People living in the vicinity of P.
Ruble's mill, at Sinking creek, are now
boasting of getting better family fl„ur at
XI r. Ruble's mill than they ever got here
tofore at any mill. Mr. Ruble has a new
miller, Franklin Runkle, in his employ,
who can knock the spots off of any miller
in Penntvalley for making good flour,
and if arty one doubts the truth hereof, we
would advise him to give Franklin a trial.

Such a puff should bring us at least a
sack ol flour for trial. Ed.
The oldest man in Curtin township is
"Win. ililles. He only lacks two years ot

Mr. Sam'l F. Fortter sold hi* farm
near this place to John F. Potter, esq., at
fan par acre. Mr. P. tier, intends to have
this farm worked under h * own manage
ment, and will pursue a plan different
frem the old style of farming. He will
have all the inside fences removed, throw
ing all into one field—thus ulilir. ng the
waste land taken up by fences and saving
the expense of fences and keeping them
up. The stock premise- wdl be
fed in the yards and not be turned out to
pasture and roam over the land and hard
en it by tramping. Mr. Potter thinks of
making a model farm of his purchase.
