John Olson, a paper hanger of this city, is a remarkable man. says an Altoona special to the Pittsburg Leader. His In ventions and discoveries have gained him some celebrity and considerable money. Horn in Dunmark, w here his father still resides, he grew up in ignorance, never seeing the inside of a school house yet now he reads and writes his native language and English, too. Far three years he was a sailor in the Danish navy. Since his emmigratiou to America he has live! in nearly everv state in the Union. Ever since his residence in this city, he ha been at work building a wagon, now approaching completion, in which he in tends to live for the rest of his life. As soon as the wagon is completed Olson vill move to a vacant lot of his near the city and in October he will start, in company with his little 12-year-old daughter, and his brother, aged l." years, for the south. Their plan is to reach the southern stales before cold weather. Three horses wil' draw the queer craft. Several maie friends will accompany them also, and the men by selling goods for several wholesale houses will earn their living as they go. Pleasure is the chief aim of these wanderers. A full sporting cabinet, in cluding some line guns, fishing tackle, etc.. will le built in the wagon. Next spring the nomads will start north and w ill prob ably summer in Illinois. The following winter will ti ml them in Texas and thus across the continent. If experience does not quench their enthusiasm, the follow ing year they will go to Asia and Europe. J follow ing the same life. "We are not in the show business," says this queer genius, "but are out for a good time and expect to have it." The wagon is 7.x".'l feet. The floor is built of very light wood. The frame work is of ah. and -inch ash boards covered with canvass w ill he theexterior covering. The interior w ill be waiuscoaled with pol ished maple. Olson's queer home will be divided into thrie apartments, separated by curtains. The lirst room consists of a three-feel wide hallway with Hose is and drawers on each side. The middle room is seven feet square anil lighted with four windows. It will be titted up as a living room. Its ceil ing will tie of canvass covered and fres coed. Turkish rugs will cover the floor. The third apartment will be used for a sleeping room and will contain six bunks. The stove used for cooking purposes is also Olson's invention. In the wagon top will be a gasoline tank, which will be piped to the peculiarly shaped stove. The wagon is wired throughout so that connection can be made for electrje light in any town or city containing an electric plant. The front door opens on the tongue of the wagon, w hich is arranged for steps w hen not in use. Every available corner has its use and tbe whole wagon is a marvel of unique workmanship.
