The lines as run w ill cross the line of the

There is an old saying to the etfi-ct that
none can lie wise alone, and to judge from
the actions of Mr. Clark Shaffer. one would
imagine that a in in cannot he happy alone.
He was married last Thursday all-o'cioik
and he has now the opportunity of decid
ing Upon the respective llli-rits of the fore
going propositions. We venture the asser
tion that he will tind from experience that
the ohl saying is true and theolher equally
reliable. The conditions are favorable,
for he married Miss Mary K. Pringle, of
Pringle Hill, a well known and accom
plished young lady. The affair was a tru
ly nli-asa:it one. The nuptial ceremony
took place at the home of the bride's par
ents. Rev. A. M. Long, pastor of the Wil
more I', p.. church, olliciating. After thv
ceremony all partook of a tmuutifu! repast.
The bride yvas dressed in a Ix-autiful cream
colored dress, trimmed in silk lace and
rihtion. The assemblage consisted mostly
of relatives of Imth parlies and numbered
between sixty and severity. The presents
displayed were numerous and costly, em
bracing many articles in the silverware,
chinaw are and glassw are lines that will in
time be useful as well iisuri.ui. tal in the
new home. In conclusion, we desire to
cast one little shoe a suit of Cinilcrilla
slippT of happiness. May their journey
through life In; as full of good things as
was the fruit cake that adorned their wed
ding dinner table.

The Pittsburg Pott has just announced
an extraordinary departure in journalism.
The Witkly Pout has passed out of exist-am-e
and its place has been taken by the
Si-ml-likly Pout at the same price, one
dollar a year. Its subscribers will hereaf
ter get two tf-page papers a weeK, instead
of one 12-page pajx-r. This is certainly a
wonderful stroke of enterprise, and is
characteristic of the splendid management
of Pittsburg's great Democratic paper.
The man w ho cannot afford to take u high
class daily like the Ihiily Pout cari now
surely afford to take a first-class city semi
weekly paper, such as is olleied to him
twice a week by the Pout for only ore dol
lar year. This is almost equivalent to
giving the paper away. We do not see
how the publishers of the Pout can afford
it, but we presumj they know their busi
ness; anyhow we do know that ttieii word
is as good as their bond, and that w lien
they sav the Semi- U'ctkly Poxt will be in
every respect as goinl as the weekly their
statement is to be fully believed. The
semi-weekly will be issued each Ti: sday
and Friday. All the features which have
made the Wittily Post one of the great
journals of America will oe continued in
the semi-weekly, in addition to the
lit' news and marke: reports, es
pecially prepared for it. One dollar a year
for 104 paKrs less than 1 cent each. Send
to the Post for a specimen copy.
