It Is impossible for the people hero to
forget tho sad scenes of the flood of Mav
of 31, 1SH9. Every once in a while there Is
something discovered or unearthed as a
sad reminder of loss of either life or prop
erty. Yesterday in digging a hole for one
of the poles for electric wires, corner of
Market and Locust streets, a little satchel
evidently belonging to a lady was thiown
out, and falling to pieces, a number of silver
coins were scattered all around.. Maybe
men aud boys didn't hustle to pick It up.
Dimes, half-dimes, quarters, dollars and
half-dollars were picked up, aggregating
about 9"-1o. The silver was as black as a
black cat. The question Is, to whom did
it belong? Probably the question will
never be answered. JotintUncn DetnticraU
