Mrs. Henry Wyponp was lft a widow
twoyeai-sago with tlirre children, the
youngest years old. She has!een hav
ing a very hard time, arid when the
winter came she was almost destitute.
The fear of starvation so preyed on her
mind that she attempted to kill her
children and herself.
The oldest, a ry of Ii?, escapt-d from
her after she had cut hi- throat with a
knife, and he then ran to a neighbor's,
giving the alarm. He was almost ex
hausted from loss of blood.
Th.e woman had the remaining two
children with her, ami, after iniiicting
mortal wounds on herself, the Set fire to
the house, and when the neighbors ar

charred remains of the three were found
later.
