quires, that the council of each borouah shall
authorize the borough treasurer to receive

Friday morning, aged aoout two years, and

followed on Wednesday by the remains of
Jeremiah. Mr. and Mrs. Fagan have lo t
five children, their whole family within the
last n.onth and bave the sympathy of the
community in tbeir dire distress.
About half past five o'clock on Monday
evening fire was discovered In the stable
belonging to Mr. James Gallaghtr, on
Julian btreet. and before, anything could be
done to f-tay the flames the structure was
all on Sre and soon burned down. Mr.
jacoo squires, who was the first man to
arrive at the building after the discovery of
the firi succeeded in getting out a eow that
was in the stable. The building contained
about half a ton of hay. The oilgln of the

tbe Upper Loop Bialr county, are terribly
excited by tbe nightly antics of a ball of fire
which has been seen to come out of the
ground at the root of a tree on one of tbe

raises in the air, fl ats gently up and down
and suddenly rises perpendicular and tben
explodes, sending out spark like ai ex

generally comes up at the root of a tree.
Recently the tree was cut down since which
