He claims tLat the character of onr dreams is very much determined by the position we occupy in sleep. The most general method of lying, perhaps, is on the right side, and this appears to be also tbe most natural method, for many per sons object to lying on the sid of tbe heart, which it has been more than once asserted should have action dnring sleep. Nevertheless, T)r. Delaunay's statements hardly harmonize, with this opinion. When one sleeps on the right side, that istnsay upon the right side of the t r tin, on's dreams have marked and unpleasant characteristics. These characteristics, however, rxre essentially those which enter into the popular defi nition of dreams. One's dreams are then apt to be il!og;cal, absurd, childish and uncertain, incoherent and full of vi vacity and exaggeration. Dreams that come from sleeping on tbe right side arj, in short, simply deceptions. They bring to the mind very old or faint re membrances, and they are very often accompanied by nightmares. Dr. De launy points out that sleepers frequently compose verse or rhythmical language, while they are lying on tbe right side. This verse, though at times correct enough, is absolutely without sense. The moral faculties are absent. On the the other band, when a person slumbers on his left side his dreams are not only less absurd, but they may also be intel ligent. They are, as a rule, concerned with recent things, not reminiscences. How to Ge to Sleep. A writer iii Hall's Journal of Jhnlth gives the following hints to prevent wakefullnes, which are no doubt effica cious : "If you cannot go to sleep when you first go to bed, give orders fo le waked up at daylight, cet up promptly, do not slefp a wink during the day, go to bed at your regular time, with directtons to be waked as before ; in n week you will find that you po to sleep promptly, bnt be careful to get upas soon as you wake in the morning, thus you will fnd out how much sleep your system requires, and act accordingly.- Avoid sleepin? in the daytime, for if you rpqnire seven hours of sleep, and spend that much at night, whatever time you spend in sVep dnring the day must be deducted from the seven bour?, cr you wil1 poor, ?r wakeful again. If you wake up p.t nip fit, either go to bed two or three hours earlier, or else got up, even if it, is one o'clock in the morning, and do not. sleep a moment, until your regular time for goin? to bd. If yon wake ard do not sleep in tbe daytime, you will find out in a week how much s'ep you require, and then act accordingly. Na ture loves regularity, p.nd four hurs sleep from 10 to 2 is said to be worth six hours after 12 o'clock. A Modern FaMp. Nothing pays better than feeding the young cattle some grain when first turned out to grass, to keep up their strength and to counteract the too laxa tive effects of tender grass. If some grain is not given there is every likeli hood thai the animals will loose in strength, and will not prow and im prove so rapidly as they otherwise would. It may be well to observe that the cattle are not turned out to pas ture until the grain has attained to some size and become somewhat ma tured. It will be found if this is done 'he cattle will improve much faster than if turnpd out while the grass is tender and washy. Rncklen'N Arnles Naive. The Best Salve in the world for Cuts. I uruises.
