bushels of as good corn as was produced In

rangements throughout, Ebensburg can now

The plocant piece of carving on marble
to which we referred last wek enriches a
handsome headstone manufactured by Mr.
James Wilkinson, of this place, and erected
the early fart of this weok in the. Catholic
cemetery et Carrolltown to the memory of
Mr. John Ectenrode, deceased. The lerter-
i ing on the stone U exceed insrly neat, while
j the cross and ivy surrounding it are really
: masterpieces of the svulptor's art. All In
all. the work is a credit to Mr. Wilkinson's
! skill and good taste, and for thatrea3on will
i always commend him to the fiatronage of
everybody who needs anything of the kind

, despoiled of goods valued, so far as can be
ascertained, at between sixty and seventy
dollars. Entrance was effected by prying
open a back shutter with a hatchet, breaking
a pane or two of glass, cutting a niche at
each side and through tbe Inside shutter, and
then inserting noroe kind of an innlement
and raising the bar which held tbe shutter in
place, thus allowing both todron to the floor.
Once inside, the thieves helped themselves
to an old overcoat which Mr. Litzineer had
I worn for twenty-one years, as well as a long
tailed black dress coat owned by the same
I gentleman and somewhat scuffed by wear,

was not tampered with. There is reason to
i believe that three persons were engaged in

Mrs. Emma Edmiston made information
a few days ago before Justice Strayer, of
Johnstown, against a young man named
Sasnnel Scbetschal for fornication and bas

marriage Edmiston went to the West, and

him, and, after some time, agreed to marry
him. Sohetschal .betrayed ber, then grew
cool toward her, and, although she repeated

Mrs. E. gave birth to a boy babv, but the
yonng nan atili refmed to marry ber, and
she finally prosecuted him. When the par
ties appeared at the Justice's office, Mrs
Edmiston ske Wm t marry them, but he
refused, for the plain reason that her hua
band is still living.- Sthetaehal was unable
to procure ball for his appearance at Court
and was committed to the county Jail. It is
