during any year for the past ten years. For
more than a week the water ha stood at and
above the two foot mark, allowing all np
river lumbermen to raft down as far as Cur
wensville, a we learn from the 7itP.of that,
place. The log elriv-s will undoubtedly
make Lock Haven during the high water, as
nearly all log were run out of the tributary
-streams during low water, and the recent
raise in the river has taken oft' nearly all
logs beached, so that very little work will
have to he 'done 'by the drivers-along the
river. Almnt 1500 rafts had passed Cnrwens
ville at last accounts and it was thought th.'t.
not more than HO were still above. Should
high water continue all timber rafted in by
our "lumbermen will he at Lock Haven by
the first of Mav. The prices paid are very
low, 11 cents for oak and 12 for pinn being
the highest, but Ihe majority of that Pold
