j The Annual banquet of Highland Lodge
j I. O. O. F. came off at Lloyd's summer
I hotel last Thursday evening as per pro-
i gramme. About one hundred members of that it had not taught against anything and
the fraternity, with their wives and friends

in an enjoyable manner. Highland Lodge
is in a flourishing condition, its members
nnmliering upwards of lftO, and its treasury

A project is on foot to construct a new

objection to this arrangement , for it would
probably be made the county-seat ; hut
proceeded to lead his team but to his great
astonishment tne wagon would not move.
He unhitched the horses, led them out of
the bridge and tied them to a fence. He
then returned with the. intention of backing
the wagon out, but he found that t he wheels
were lirmly set, the tongue was immovable,
and the light- l:d which he had handled
many a time without assistance, was so sol
idly fixed that he could not move even the
one corner. .ight came on, and witn an-

loose the wagon, but it remained as station
ary as though it were a part of the bridge.
