late wanderings and rh- inri!ents emmecfed
therewith. 1 have made two through trips
from this place to Marietta. The l'u'sr, occu

lor nothing save cold and' stormy weather,
high water, and a perfect jam. Arriving at
homo on Wednesday evening, April Moth,
we only had time to make a few hurried
preparations for the next liood, and on Sat
urday it came. On Sabbath, May 4th, we
left the Tree on our second trip, and it is of
this one I wish more particularly to speak,
it having been so replete with pleasant inci
dents that 1 look back upon it as the; most
enjoyable trip I ever experienced, save and
except of course that memorable one to the
land of luscious peaches, where the "sands
of Ufa," or life among the sand, unlike th
timber in this region, will never run out.
The raft upon which I took passage was
run by Mr. M. II. 15. Crcery, of this place, a
thorough pilot and a ki ng among watermen.
