There are two way of footing a bill, as we
have learned to our Borrow. One is to pay it
Hnd tbe other is to run ofl and leave it unpaid!
The la'.ter method was tried tu us this week;
or "at least e only learned of it then, by no
less than five contemptible cus?ea who left us
iu the lurch to the tune of about l7.
Wubio the past twelve days four houses
in ludi:m county those of George Varrer

Thos Dunlan, in South Mahoning township,
and E. 13. Wiudowson, in Green townshro as
well as the house ol Win. Gall, in JeUWrjon
county, near the Indiana county line, with
moftof their content, were destroyed bv tire.
Defective Cues did tbe work for thieeol them,
eparks-on the roof and a stovepipe hole
through a kitchen roof did the balance.
An eSfort. is being made by several gen

be perfected in 6eaou. It id intended to mike
a Vriel' bo,ourn at all the prominent points
along the route, and to be absent about a

ttufScient to cover all the expenses of the trip.
