The deeeasi'd was born in Loudon count-,
Virginia, and ot a very earl v age came with her
parents to l5inody Hun, 5edford county, where
she was married, in l.SiH, to John Murray, ti na
tive; of Ireland, who, with his young wife and
their first be,rn child, (now Hon. James Murray,
of Ktienrdiarg, one of the Associate Judges of
thf, county, i then eight months old. e-aino to
this place in the latter part of JS05. The subject
of this notie-e' was therefore one of the earliest
residents of Cambria county, and in its infancy
she "grew with its growth ar.d strengthened
with its strength." Her husband becr.me an
active and inliuential democratic politician in
this county, was at an early day electe-d to the
oltioo of iSheriil', and many years afterwards
was one of the Associate J udjrus of this county
He died in ieceiobcr, is.i, arid after that event
his widow removed to Johnstown with her two
unmarried danghtofS.with whom fhe cemtinuer
to reside up to the timeof her death. Ui Wed

-ensigoed to their last earthly resting place In
the Ci'lholie cemetery, by the side of her de-ccwKt-d
husband. Mrs. Murray was a lady pos
