Eiery Day Philosophy.
Hans Patrick C. Connor, formerly
known by the nom de plume of ''Beau
Ilacket," contributed the following to the
S: Louis Huma Journal :
Never insure your lift for the benefit of j
your wife for a greater sum than ten tnous
mdJ dollars. A widow with more money
ihuii that is a dangerous legacy to leave
posterity.
The "game of life"'. is very like a game
of cards. Time deals, death cuts, and
everybody is waiting for the last trump.
- I think men drink in crowds because
tl.ey are afraid to drink by themselves.
It requires a good deal of courage to
t nd up alone and pour a glass of wins
key down your throat.
There are some inconsistencies in this
world that I don't exactly understand.
Everybody is anxious to jro to heaven,
. but nobody is in a hurry about it.
If a man is without enemies I would
not give ten cents for all hi3 friends.
.The mn who can please everybody hasn't
;ot tere enough to displease anybody.
When an acquaintance says, "How
nie you?" and rushes by you without
pausing for a reply, I wouldn't, if I was
in your place, follow him more than a
m le to t H biru I was well.
A convenient way of testing the atfec
tiors of your intended, is to marry another
woman. If she don't love you, you will
tind it out immediately.
Do unto other men as they would like
to do unto you. and you won't have
nough money iu two weeks to hire a
shut washed.
Tin pong "Dear Mother, I've Come
Home to Die," id ways struck me as a
bnppy illustration of American assurance.
Our youns go abroad to spend the hard
earnings of the old folks, and when they
are dend-bioke, retur.i home to bo bi'iied
at the exp-uisc of their impoverished pa
le its.
A IJemakkabm; Invention. It is sla
tel that a German gJass-rmiker has lately
made a remarkable discovery, lie has
iuvented a telecope, or magnifying plas?,
by me-, n of which ihe most indicate
nerves and vessels ins'dj of t! e body may
be seen from the t u s de. In fact, the
ho!e arrangement and action of the in-
tnior organs may, by means of thin jrlsss,
be distinguished.
The discovery will probably be of ita
mense benefit to mankind, as by means of
it the pi ysician will be able to determine
with unvarying accuracy, the nature of
any particular di.ae, und the proper
mi n icr for treti.ig the same.
The name of the inventcr, who will
probably realize a large fortune from his
discovery, is Gotlieb Juntz. Ho is very
poor, but a well read and highly intelligent
iu:.n.' He has an agod mother, an invalid
wit'-, six ch ldren, and a blind sister, all
dependent upon him for support. Ilia
mother was well acquainted with the poet
Goethe, and it was probably her many
anecdotes of this illustrious person which
fi a: infpired hr son with a desire to do
someih ng to win the respect and esteem
. The glass he has made will probably
place him am n the first rank of invent
ors, and wiu him the esteem of whi-l: na
tions. By means of this invention he has ali
ready nearly cured his wif Six months
ngo a well known doctor said she could
not live, and pronounced her disease to
be an affection of the h?art.
Junfz, however, has now proven to him
with the aid of the wonderful microscope
that he was entirely mistaken ; the stom
ach alone being the part affected.
We are eagerly looking for further in
formation regarding Juntz and his won
lerfjl glass.

OES DYSPEPSIA CURE!!
This great remedy for all DISEASES OF
THE STOMACH is the discovery of the in
ventor of Coe' valuable Cough Balsam,
while experimenting for his own health. It
cured Cramp in the Stomach for him which
had before yielded to nothing but choloform.
The almost daily testimony from various
part of the country encourage us to believe
there is no disease caused by a disordered
stomach it will not speedliy cure. Physi
cians endorse and use it. Ministers give tes
timony of its efficacy ; and from all directions
we receive tidings of cures performed.
Dyspepsia it is sure to cure. Heartburn
one dose will cure. Sick Headache it has
cured in hundreds cf cases. Headache and
Dimness it stops in thirty minutes. Acid
ity of the Ftomach it corrects at once. Rising
of the Food it stops'immediately. Distress
a fttr Eating one dose will remove. Cholera
Morbus rapidly yields to a few doses. Bad
Breath will be changed with half a bottle.
IT IS PERFECTLY HARMLESS!
Its unprecedented success is owing to the
fact that it cures by assisting Nature to re
assert her sway in the system.
Nearly every dealer in the United States
sells it at ose dollar per butti.e.
