These meetings are of great good.
The Mountain Mission church was al
most filled to his capacity Sunday night
to hear Rev. Hall preach on the Risen
Lord. He held the congregation spell
bound for more than an hour, many list
eners were from Driftwood and Mix Run,
Miss Charlotte Spence, of your city,
and Secretary of the Cameron County
Sabbath School Association, visited our
Sunday school last Sabbath and gave an
interesting talk on the work she thor
oughly understands. She succeeded in
establishing a Home Department, with
W. F. Hall, Supt. and B. J. Ferguson,
Ass't. Miss Spence was right royally en
tertained while with us. A delegation
met her at the depot, and escourted her
to the home of 15. J. Ferguson.
On Monday morning she went to Hix
Run where the will visit her cousin
Frank Patchell, during the week and on
Sunday next she will address the Sunday
school at that place.
Alice Jordan, of Huntley :i charming
young lady and highly respected every
where, Sundayed in the Garden, where
the has a host of frieuds. Call again,
Alice, you are always welcome.
Sophia Linds, a resident of the Gar
den, is employed at the home of Delos
Ducll, on Mason Hill.
The young people of this place gave
Asbury Moody a surprise party on bis
15th birthday, Friday night. An enjoy
able time was had until midnight, when a
| substantial supper was served to over 20
that came to do him honor. The pre-
I sents were numerous and usefull.
Mesdames George English and T. A.
Williamson were in Dußois last week
| doing shopping.
Thos. Canick has purchased the white
pine timber belonging to Morris Donovan
! on Mason Hill and he will put it to the
box factory at Sinnemahoning as soon as
the road will permit.

Mrs. Sizer, of Sizerville, visited friends
in this vicinity.
The party heid at the home of Frank
jL. Miller's was well attended. The
young people enjoyed themselves very
much. Thirty-eight were present. Re
freshments of oysters, pic, icc-creatn and
cake were served.
Hayne's school No. 2, closed last Wed- ,
nesday after a seven month term. The i
tacher, Ezra B. Smith, departed for Aus- i
tin, where he will spend a few days un
dcr the parental roof. Monday last he 1
went to Lock Haven, where he will con- \
I tinue his studies at the Central State
| Normal School.
i Since the recent rains and high water,
sucker fishing is carried on extensively.
A large number has been caught, many
of them measuring from twelvo to six
teen inches long.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. J. B.Haynes, a
daughter.
John Hicks and L. C. Wykoff trans
acted business at Sinnamahoning, Satur
day.
The B. & S. have a large crew of men
working on the water tank at Lick Is
land Run. The old one at Pepper Hill,
they expect to tear down.

their bereavement.
