John Anderson of Austin visited relatives in Emporium on Tuesday. Mrs. John Koehler has been quite ill the past week and confined to her home. The Misses Helen, Grace and Annie Robertson entertained about forty of their young friends at their home last Thursday evening from five to nine o'clock. About twenty little friends of John Dodson helped him celebrate his sixth birthday on Tuesday evening. A big event for the little tots. Conductor "Al" Love, of Buffalo, who has been with the "W. N.Y. & P." for many years—ever since its con struction—circulated among his many Emporium friends quite frequently lately. Misses Katie Welsh [and Anna Tell, two of the Incandescent Lamp Co.'s lady clerks, were very agreeable PRESS visitors on Tuesday. Mrs. E. C. Davison and daughter, Miss Mary, of Ridgway visited friends in Emporium Tuesday and Wednes day, guests of W. B. Thompson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Jlarris re turned to-day from visiting rela tives at New York city. While there Mr. Harris purchased many new goods. Big Sleigh Ride. The Lady Maccabees will hold a sled ride on Friday night. 'They will at tend a supper at Mr. Ensign's on the Portage, for the beuelit of their pastor - Messrs. Clarke and Lingle will both take a load. All invited that want to go. Ladies and gentlemen, Maccabees or no. West ward people will meet at D. Ensign's, middle ward at Pepper man's, east ward at the east ward post office. Will start at six o'clock. The H. G. L. Sleigh Bide. The H. G. L., enjoyed a sleigh ride, to Howard Siding last Friday evening and a supper was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Horning.
