Mrs. Tbadeus F. Moore entertained a few lady friends last Friday after noon in honor of Mrs. E. F. High lands, of Denver, Col. Frank Lockwood, one of Shippen township's best citizens and upright business men was a PRESS visitor yes terday and pushed the date on his paper well into 1908. Henry A. Smith, after visiting for several months at Hartford, Conn., and Springfield, Mass., has arrived in Em porium and is visiting Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Smith on Maple street. N. H. McCloskey, for seveuteen years a resident of Grove township, visited in town yesterday, attending to the election return business. We enjoyed a social chat with our old friend. Mr. Chas. Dice of Sterling Run, and Miss Cora M. Yocum were married at Olean, N. Y., last Saturday. The PRESS and many friends congratulate the pleasant young people. Mr. Richard Kuehne's family, con sisting of wife, two daughters and one son, arrived in Emporium Tuesday. Mr. K. is proprietor of the big store on Fourth street. Our towns people extend a welcome to all new-comers. Ross W. Barrows, of Lock Haven, visited in Emporium on Tuesday, guest of Hon. Josiah Howard. Mr. Barrows retains considerable interest in Cameron county and we hope some day to see him aud his pleasant wife with us again. John Hout, of Woodland avenue was a PRESS caller early yesterday morning, and reports a ten pound boy at his residence, the young lad mak ing his appearance early Tuesday morning, cheering for Chas. J. Howard for County Treasurer. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Cameron, of Towanda, Pa., are congratulated by their Emporium friends over the ar rival of a handsome girl baby at their home. The great event happened one day last week. Sam desires his friends to mail him all the lullaby songs they they can find. Miss Dot Johnson,who has spent the last three months with her brother Wm. It. Johnson and family, returned to her home at Pittsburg Tuesday. Miss Johnson is a professional nurse, being a graduate from the Woman's Episcopal Hospital, Philadelphia and has many friends here who are sorry to see her leave.
