Postmaster Linninger visited in Empo rium the first of the week. There was quite an excitement in town last Friday afternoon when a man from Emporium came to Cameron to sell a small basket of fruit, and constable Lu pro attempted to arrest the man for sell ing without a iicense. John Schwab, principal of Sinnama honing schools, spent Saturday and Sun day at home. Wm. McVain and wife spent Sunday at Dents Run. At their meeting Saturday evening the National Protective Legion initiated sev eral new members. Grace Clark, who has been spending the summer with relatives at Milton, re turned home this week. Wm. Troxell and wife of Milton, are guests of the Clark family. The school at Canoe Run has not been opened yet, as a certain party says the • mules" are all at work in the mines and could not come to Cameron to take the teacher to the school. Mesdames J. E. Lester, Kris, John Schwab and Miss Summerson were Em porium visitors Saturday. E. F. Comley attended the Sunday school convention at Emporium this week. The ball game beeween Cameron and Canoe Run, scheduled for last Sunday afternoon had to be postponed on account of one ol the Canoe Run players being ill. The people of Canoe Run have taken the matter up in regard to a school there and have the building about ready. Every tiling will be done for the comfort of the teacher and scholars and it is expected that this school will be a leader. At the meeting of school directors last week Mr. RoOinson resigned as president and Jas. Crugar was appointed to fill the vacancy. Mrs. E. D. Krape and little son Earn est, left this week on a two weeks visit among friends and relatives at Grampian and Clearfield. Frank Johnson and wife arrived in town the first of the week, and will spend a few days with friends. He was form erly employed in the store of E. V. Dun levie, at this plaee, three years ago. Chas. The little raise in the Fork last week caused a good many fish to come out in the main creek; but they did not go but a little ways before they turned over dead and lay along the creek shores to purify the water. Still it seems all right for the corporrtions to kill our fish by the millions, but we have a warden hired by the state to watch us to see that we do not catch any witli hook and line. DEHSK.
