is all light for the corporations to destroy
the fish, but let a lone fisherman catch
one out of season, and the fish warden is
after him like a fish hawk, that is if he
thinks he can bleed him for a ten.
There are plenty of fish in First Fork
but they cannot be used until they have
been flushed in fresh water for some
time.
The farmers up the First Fork will
have to get rid of all their cows, but one
apiece, or else fence up all the state lands,
for the forrestry officer forbids cattle
trespassing on state lands and the state

C. W. Williams, tax collector of Gib

town Monday, it being the twelfth day
of authorized collection. Mr. Williams
informs us that he has three-fourths of
thej duplicate already collected and paid
over. As the total amount to be collect
ed is nearly 84,200, this is an excellent
showing for Mr. Williams and this is the
seventh term he has served as collector
for this township. We consider this
record will compare favorably with any
collectors in the state if not in the United
States. This should serve in a measure
to put a stop to the rumors that have
been circulating around the county of
late, reflecting on Mr. Williams' charac
ter and morals and he wishes to say that
his conduct at all times is in keeping
with the above excellent record, all re
ports to the contrary notwithstanding.

"We never repent of eating too litte,"
was one of the ten rules of life of Thomas
Jefferson, president of the United States,
and the rule applies to every one without
axception during the hot weather, because
it is hard for food, even in small quanti
ties, to be digested when the blood is at
high temperature. At this season we
should eat sparingly and properly. We
should also help the stomach rs much as
possible by the use of a little Kodol. For

rest the stomach by digesting the food it
