Mr. and Mrs. A. Ulrich, of Sinnama
honing visited their daughter in town
last Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Welsh, of Aus
tin, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs.
W. G. Gilbert over Thanksgiving.
Mrs Mary Garrison and Mrs. Cora
Bulick, of Oxford, N. Y., are visiting
S. G. Ostrum and wife on Bryan Hill.

Mrs. Maud English, of Driftwood,
and sister, Miss Alice Williams, of
Mason Hill, visited in Emporium Mon
day and Tuesday. They called at the
PRESS office while in town.

day evening for a winter's sojourn in
the balmy clime of southern California.

Wm. Appel returned on Sunday from
Syracuse, where he was called several
weeks ago, owing to serious illness of
his father.
Mr. and Mrs. William McDonald and
daughter, Miss Christie,were the guests
at the home of Frank Good in Renovo
over Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter, of Lock
Haven are locating in town, Mr
Carpenter being employed as baker for
M. L. C'ainmings.
Mr. and Mrs. 11. C. Fritz, of Harrie
burg, are in town, Mr. Fritz having
taken the contract to decorate Jos.
Kaye's new residence.
Owing to ill health Miss Grace Leet
has tendered her resignation as assist
ant principal of the High School, to
take effect next Tuesday.
Miss Mildred and Easter Owoa, of
Port Allegany, were guests of Miss
Elizabeth Crandell last week and -At
tended Miss Crandell's birthday party.
Frank P. Strayer, of Emporium
Lodge, and John Gleason, of Drift
wood Lodge, attended a session of the
Masonic Grand Lodge at Philadelphia,
this week.
Chester Hockley, of Pittsburg, who
is located at Pittsburg where he is em
ployed by the Westinghouse people,
visited his father and brother in town
on Monday.
J. E. Rousseau who resides in Rock
well block over M. L. Cummings' store,
is the happy father of a bouncing boy
that made its advent on Tuesday. His
friends were treated to cigars.
Our old friend V. E. Crum, of Slnna
mahoning, was transacting business in
Emporium last Momday and took time
to call on ye editor. We regret we
were called away on important busi
ness and failed to meet our friend.
Mr. Crum is interested in the Sinnaina
honing Powder Company and is an
energetic powder man.
Mrs. Ellen McCabe and daughter
Mame lefr Monday afternoon for
Coudersport, their future home. They
will reside with Mrs. McCabe's sister,
Mrs. J. E. Kelley, at the New Critten
den Hotel, where Mrs. McCabe will be
assistant house-keeper. This family
has resided in Emporium many years
and will be much missed. Our best
wishes follow them.
