Pa., where they have been visiting the
past month.
John M. Gillan and wife have moved
from Towanda, Pa., to Philadelphia,

enroute to Bucknell University, visited
his brother, Dr. D. C. Groves, at this

Jas. G. Earl has returned from an
extended visit to Canada and several

Mrs. W. J. Leavitt, who was taken
seriously ill last Saturday is much
better at this writing, her many friends

Hon. John McDonald, of Driftwood,
was an agreeable PRESS visitor on

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Kaye and two
children, of Westboro, Wis., arrived in
Emporium yesterday to visit relatives
and friends, guests of Jos. Kaye and
family.
John. A. Wykoff, V. E. Crum and
O. L. Bailey, of Sinnamahoning, at
tended an important meeting of the
Sinnamahoning Powder Company on
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Metzger, Sr., re
turned last Saturday from Seaforth,
Can., on Lake Huron, where they at
tended the funeral of Mrs. Metzger's
brother.
Thos. Davins, who had his foot bad
ly crushed while on duty on the rail
road, is about town on crutches, and
is improving rapidly. He expects to
return to work in a short time.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. T. Logan have
commenced housekeeping in the H. H.
Mullin residence on Sixth street. They
| will soon be as comfortable as two bugs
' in a rug.
Mrs. E. L. Pollard, of Buffalo, arriv
-1 en in Emporium Saturday evening to
: look after her property here and make
some improvements. Mrs. Pollard
1 was a PRESS visitor on Tuesday and
! renewed her paper for another year.
A. D. Ericsson, who has been in the
i employ of the Keystone Powder Com
| pany for a long time, will not leave
| Emporium as reported. He may make
I his tormer home, in Sweden, a visit
I about Christmas time.
Mr. Raymond Fisk, of Sisterville,
j West Va., was a PRESS visitor yester
I day, accompanied by Miss Laura Fisk,
i his cousin. The young man is a mute
and made the trip to Emporium alone.
In spite of his affliction the young man
• is a ready writer and great reader.
Frank Leet formerly of Coudersport,
j but of late a resident of Niagara Falls,
, will remove to New York, where he
i will go into the real estate business. -
