Mrs. L. T. Hacket, of Buffalo is visit
ing her mother, Mrs. David Murry and
other relatives on Third street.
Mis* Ethel B. Day left last Thursday
for Friendship, N. Y., to spend a
month with her grand-parents.
Mrs. L. B. Munsell, of Emporium, is
the guest of her brother, A. F. Gard

Mrs. W. H. DeLong, of Emporia,
Fla., was.the guest of Mrs. Tom Mc-
Clellan and family from Saturday until

Dr. Carl Felt came up from Philadel
phia on Sunday to join his wife and
child, and visit relatives and friends,
for three weeks.
Chauncey Cronk, of Houghton, N.
Y., visited his daughter Mrs. Walter
Morrison at this place last week. Mr.
Cronk and daughter made the PRESS a
pleasant call.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Day left on
Tuesday morning, accompanied by
their two s >ns and daughter Dorcas, to
ittend the "home coming week" at
Friendship, N. Y.
Miss Edith Calbic, of Buffalo, who
made Miss Grace A. Walker and Geo.
A. Walker a visit of several weeks, re
turned home on Thursday last. The
lady was very favorably impressed
with Emporium and made many
friends here
Don M. Larrabee spent Sunday and
Monday in town. Mr. Larrabee a few
months ago was given charge of the
combined branch offices of the New
York Life Ins. Co., at Harrisburg and
Williamsport, comprising a territory
of nineteen counties with headquart
ers at Harrisburg. He retains his resi
dence at Williamsport.
Mrs. Orvis Hemphill of Emporium,
visited at tie home Mrs. Chas. Butler
last week Mrs. Anna Fry and
children left for their homo in New
Mexico Wednesday, after spending
six weeks here guests of Chas. Fry and
family J. M. Butler has just com
pleted the remodeling of the dining
room at the Horton House. It is an
attractive, pretty loom. Mr. Butler
has laid out several thousand dollars
on the Horton Houne since he has had

C. Wesley Barr, of Gibson, transacted
business in Emporium on Wednesday.
Miss Oharlott Rentz has returned
from a visit to Williamsport relatives.
Mrs C. McCann, of Shingle House,
visited her son L. F. McCann in town
the past week.
Mian Mildred Douglas, of Olean, is
visiting friends in town, guest of her
girl friends.
Mr. M. Lilly, of Coudersport and A.
King, Port Allegany, were guests of
W. S. Sterner on Sunday.
Miss Lillian Susemihl, of Elmira is
visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Ohas. Zarps at this place.
Miss Caroline Eddy, of Renovo, vis
ited friends in Emporium Monday,
guest of Miss Perna Gasklll.
G. S. Sterner, wife and daughter, of
Austin, are guest* of their mother,

Attorney L. A. Walker and wife of
Perry, N. Y., were guests ot Mr. and

Mrs. J»S. lyaye accompanied by her
daughters Jane and Sarah left this
morning for Westboro, Wis., to spend
a month.
Misses Ida McG'oneghy, of Couders
port, Hilda Hertig and Marguerite

Mr.{and Mrs. J. Pitt Felt returned
on Saturday from an extended visit to

Judge B. W. Green and Hon. Josiah
Howard attended the funeral of N. T.
Arnold, -at Ridgway, on Tuesday, serv
ing as honary pall bearers.
Mrs. W. 11. Howard and son Wil
liam, Jr., returned on Wednesday
evening, from a visit at Shenandoah.
Miss Dolores Borduer returned home
with them.

porium Monday, calling on his custo

Tax Collector Fred Seger left on
Monday for Bristol, West Va., to spend
a few days with relatives and return
home with his wife who has been visit
ing her parents at Bristol.
Mrs. J Singler, of Chicago, is the
guest of her brother Mr. N. Seger and
family. This is Mrs.Singler's first visit
to Emporium in many years. She ex
pects to remrin a month.
Mrs. J. M. Butler, of Port Allegany,
accompanied by her brother, Thos. S.
Rogan of Summerton, S. C , visited in
Emporium on Monday, being enroute
for St. Marys, to visit their parents.
John O. Sonberg, of Bradford, Pa.,
editor and manager of the Vart Land
visited in Emporium on Monday and
called at the PRESS office. His paper is
the leading Swedish paper and has a
wide circulation.
Mr. Frank T. Beers, a very compet
ent gentleman, will fill the position
of Supt., at Climax Powder works,
made vacant by the transfer of Mr.
Van Gelder to Dover, N. J., possibly
permanently.
Howard E. Spangler (J. B. Bedard's
manager) and wife, return to-day from
visiting friends and relatives at York,
Harrisburg, Williamsport and Renovo,
having the curtailed honeymoon trip
finished up in fine style.
John Geo. Murry, of Buffalo, accom
panied by his two daughters, are visit
at the old home on Third street. Th:»
is George's first visit to Emporium in
three years and like all Emporium
boys is glad to meet his old friends.
Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Hamlin, C. R.
Hamlin and the Misses Hamlin of Aus
tin, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. G
Gilbert last Sunday, at New Warner.
Mr. Hamlin is general manager of
the Beyliss Paper Mills at Austin.
Rev. and Mrs. McNarry and children
who have been guests of Rev. Robert
son, left on Monday for Warren, Pa.,
from where they goto Lawrence
county, Pa. Mrs. McNarry is Rev.
Robertsons sister.
Mr. and Mr. Ray Husted, of Empori
um, returned home Saturday, after
a visit to Mrs. Husted's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Bentlcy, East Water
street. The couple also visited Elmira

Delray, Mich., where he has moved

to receive the machinery and material
for their Model Restaurant and Bakery,
soon to be opened in Keystone Brick
Block.
Thos. II Lynch, of St. Marys, Auditor
for Pittsbutg, Shawnuit & Northern
R. It., was guest ;it the residence of
Judge Green last week. He is Mrs.
Green's nephew.
The PRESS editor had the pleasure of
shaking hands with Mr. Thos. Creigh
ton, of Emlenton, Pa., who was visiting
his cousin Jas. P. Creighton, at this
place. He saw the points of interest.
11. G. Rica of St. Marys, has been in
charge of J. B. Bedard's tailoring
establishment—during Mr. Splanglor's
vacation. He is a splendid gentleman
and we wish there might be work here
