Walker, of Austin, visited in town yesterday. Miss Belle Johnson is visiting friends in Buffalo this week. Mrs. F. Q. Judd is sick having a severe case of la grippe. Miss Golda Lyons made a business trip to Olean last Saturday. Rev. Father Downey spent the first of the week at Port Allegheny. William Sprung visited his daughter in Buffalo last Friday and Saturday. Mrs. A. C. Blum returned home on Friday from visiting relatives at Hugbesville, Pa. The Press "Man About Town" has ">een taking a rest this week, visiting old friends at Olean. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Diehl's little daughter Florence badly scalded her left hand last Monday. Mrs. J. F. Sullivan and daughter Miss Ruth, of Huntley, were pleasant PRESS callers yesterday. Miss Myrtle Gregory is home from Williamsport Commercial College, a few days with her parents. Miss Anna Blumle, of Emporium, is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Staub.—St. Marys Enterprise. Mrs. Jacob Zurfluh,nee Annie Zwald, of Ridgway, returned home on Sunday, after visiting her relative in town for a week. Misses Estella and Julia Keller were PRESS visitors on Saturday, at the same time taking a look at our printing de partment. W. H. Smith, of Sterling Run, one of our good down county friends, was a PRESS visitor last Saturday. Call again, friend. Dr. A. W. Baker will be at the New Warner, Friday, Feb. 16, where he can be consulted from 8 to 11 a. m., 1 to 4 p. m., and 7 to 9 p. m. Mrs. James O'Day, of East Allegheny Ave., was taken to the Williamsport hospitai last week where she under went a serious operation. Mr. P. S. Culver, for manv years tax collector of Shippen township, was a PRESS visitor on Friday, pushing the date on his paper ahead another year. Arch F. Barr, of Huston Hill, an old Press subscriber made us a visit yester day. Mr. Barr was on his return from attending Directors Convention at Ridgway. Mrs. Adam Markett and Misses Anna Markett and Leathie Victory, of Si/.er ville, were visitors ou Saturday. The ladies took a look at our plant and watched our men at work. Our old friend Casper Sipple, who went to Huntington Beach, Cal., from this county, c jutinues to send us the Huntington Beach News. Thanks, friend; we enjoy the reading. John 15 llint-y, of Sterling Run, visited in Kmporium Tuesday evening, for the purpoHo of attending Masonic lodge. Mr. Hinoy is employed by Elk Tanning Co., with headquarters at Ridgway. M. F. Luoore, Emporium Furnace Supply Company's hook keeper at' ways reliable and attentive to his duties was a Phkjm visitor on Sutur day and carried home with him a receipt for our paper Into 1007. Mr. R. Hess, of Williamsport, was in Emporium Thursday. John A. Johnston is transacting business at Pittsburg. William Snyder quietly pushed his PRESS ahead this morning. Thanks, friend. Mrs. A. F. Andrews and son, return ed home last Sunday from visiting at Elmira, N Y. Contractor J. W. Kriner and crew have commenced work on the Walker block rebuilding. Miss Mayme Cummings and Miss Nell Thomas attended a masquerade ball at Port Allegany last evening. Mrs. David Johnston, of Wisconsin, who has been visiting her mother Mrs. M. H. Dodge, for several weeks returned to her home on Monday. Geo. Rishell, of Erie, stopped in town Friday to see his brother Charles and family, and shake hands with numerous friends. Geo. was on his way to Philadelphia, New York and Boston to purchase carpets for the firm for whom he is employed at Erie. Enoa T. Drum and wife, of Warren, visited in Emporium over Sunday guests of the former's brother. Mr. Drum is one ot the editors and pro prietors of the Warren Mail, the oldest journal in Warren county. We con gratulate our young friend upon his rapid rise in the journalistic field. The PRESS received a fraternal call from the young man. Joe Butler is continuing the improve ments at the Ilorton House which has been going on since the day he took possession. A. D. Helmer, well known Port Allegany mechanic, is just now arranging the first floor sitting room, putting in a new steel ceiling and get ting ready for paint and paper. Butler has built a fine barn on the property and in many other ways improved it since he lias had it.—Port Allegany Reporter. A Scotch "Ball."
