The law further provides that it shall be theduty of the County Treasurer to sue for the recovery of all licenses duly returned to him by the Mer cantile Appraiser if not paid on or before the first day of July in each and every year within ten days after date, and said Treasurer shall not be discharged from any such license unless he bring suit to recover the same on or before that date. Webster last week. Mr. (J. J. Howard and J. 11. Evans took a fishing trip one day last week. Mr. Wm, Whitehead has moved into one of 0. J. Howard's houses. He is employed by Mr. Howard. Warren Peterson is turning levers rapidly to fill his orders. Miss Gertrude Germond was seen on our streets one day last week. Mrs. Gardner, of Olean, is at home at tending her mother Mrs. It. Davy who is very sick. Fisherman are very plentiful around here, but we don't see many fish. Miss Maud Evans spent Sonday with her parents at this place. FININIKY FININIKIN. Huntly Notes. Business is booming at this place at present. Wm. Nelson is chancing of his §75 graphophone. B. J. Collins has finished his lumber and tie job and is now brdaking his land ing. Messrs. Cole and Bailey arc erecting a sail boat for sporting purposes. They expect to enjoy themselves this summer sailing on Wilson's pond, during leasure hours. Mrs. Jane Billings, who has been sick for some time with a complication of dis eases, was taken to the Williamsport hos pital last Saturday, accompanied by her brother, Thomas Kailbourn. One of our young men has as much patience as the servant of old, who served seven years for a wife, but we think he will receive his reward this summer, by the appearance of things. Wc hope so, anyway. A wedding is expected in the near future, as we understand one of our fashionable belles is getting her wedding garments made. Good luck to you, E. G. C. We think you have chosen wisely. Sinnamahoning Item*. Born to Mrs. F. E. Jordan, a young daughter. The farmers are busy now with their spring work. Seed potatoes are scarce and hard to get this spring. Jonathan Gore, mail carrier is back on the route again. A. J. Barclay was in Couaersport last week on business. Several weddings are booked for this place this spring. Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan Mead are moving into town. W. J. Mead and wife ot Renovo are in town for a few days. Spring has come and the farmers are happy and everybody else. G. W. Huntley was in town Monday and purchased a team of horses from G. B. Barclay while here. Warren Fisher, who has been in the employ of A. D. Gore, blacksmithing, is located in Driftwood now. All who patronize him will be satisfied with the work. Trout fishing is not very good here this spring, the water being a little too high. Several parties have been report ed catching trout that were under size. A good chance for the fish warden. What might have ended in a sad drowning affair Sunday afternoon was averted by the timely rescue by W. J. Mead. Two little girls crossing Wykoff llun fell in and the water carried them down the stream near a cribbing and if they had not been rescued, they would have been drawn under and both drown ed.
