New Mileage Books.
What will be khown as the eastern in
terchangeable mileage book will go into
eftect the first day of May. The books
issued under the head will be good on the
following lines, and on them only: Erie,
Chesapeake & Ohio, Baltimore and Ohio,
D. L. & W., Lehigh Valley and the
Pennsylvania. The book will not be
good on the roads included in the terri
tory covered by the "Western book."
The book will be issued for 1,000
miles and the purchase price will be 880.
If the the conditions arc complied with
the purchaser is entitled to a rebate of
$lO upon returning the cover to the
office. The book will not be accepted for
checking baggage nor by the conductor
of the train, as a ticket must be purchas
ed at the station on the presentation of
the book. The book is good for passage
at the two cent rate only for the individ
ual to whom issued.
No name apears on the mileage book
in any place. When the purchaser takes
the book he signs his name on an attached
slip, which is then torn off and forwarded
to the head office. When he wishes to
get a ticket he presents his book at the
ticket office and the agent detaches the re
quired number of miles from the book.
This detached slip is then endorsed by
the purchaser and the ticket is issued.
The mileage slip, with the purchaser's
signature, is then forwarded to the office
and placed on file with the slip, which
was forwarded when buying the book.
Upon presenting the ticket to the con
ductor the book holder signs the ticket
and the conductor forwards it with the
signature upon it to the office where it
is placed on file.
When the book is used up the pur
chaser forwards the covers to the office.
Then an expert compares the signatures
on all of' tin- .ui'eages and tickets sent in
with the original signatures on the con
tract. If there is no discrepancy in the
signatures a rebate of 810 is sent the pur
chaser. li' all the signatures do not con
form to the original signature the book
holder does not receive the rebate and
has paid three cents a mile for his trans
portation.
If the signatures are not exactly the
same, but are near enough so that there
is but little question as to their authentic
ity, the purchaser may secure his rebate
by going before a notary public and swear
ing that the signatures are his. This
ticket will be limited for one year from
the date of issue.

SEVERE ATTACK OP GRIP.
Cured by One Bottle of Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy.
"When I had an attack ot the grip last
winter (tha second one) I actually cured
myself with one bottle of Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy." says Frank W. Perry,
Editor of the Knterprise, Shortsville, N.
Y. "This is the honest truth. I at
times kept from coughing myself to pieces
by taking a teaspoonful of this remedy,
and when the eonghing spell would come
on at night I would take a dose and it
seemed that in the briefest interval the
cough would pass off and 1 would go
to sleep perfectly free from cough and its
accompanying pains. To say that the
remedy acted as a most agreeable surprise
is very mildly. 1 had no idea that it
would or could knock out the grip, simply
because I had never tried it for such a
purpose, but it did. and it seemed with
the second attack of coughing the remedy
caused it to not only be of less duration,
but the pains were far less severe, and I
had not used the contents of one bottle
before Mr. Grig had bid me adieu.

Banger of Colds and Orip.
The greatest danger for colds and grip
is their resulting in pneumonia. If
reasonable care be used, however, and
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy taken, all
danger will be avoided. Among the tens
of thousands who have used this remedy
for these diseases we have yet to learn of
a single ease having resulted in pneu
monia, which shows conclusively that it
is a certain preventive of that dangerous
disease. It will cure a cold or an attack
of the grip in less time than any other
treatment. It is pleasant and safe to

A disordered stomach may cause no
end of trouble. When the stomach fails
to perform its functions the bowels be
come deranged, the liver and kidneys con
gested, causing numerous diseases, the
most fatal of which are painless and there
fore the more to be dreaded. The im
portant thing is to restore the stomach
and liver to a healthy condition, and for
this purpose no better preparation can be
used than Chamberlain's Stomach and
Liver Tablets. For sale by L. Taggart

A Sweet Breath.
Is a never failing sign of a healthy
stomach. When the breath is bad the
stomach is out of order. There is no
remedy in the world equal to Kodol Dys
pepsia cure for curing indigestion, dys
pepsia and all stomach disorders. Mrs
Mary S. Crick, of White Plains, Ky.,
writes, "I have been a dyspeptic for
years—tried all kinds of remedies but
continued to grow worse. By the use ot
Kodol I began to improve at once, and
after taking a few bottles am full restored
in weight, health and strength and can eat
