which has been laid up for repairs, will
be ready for work the lirst of the week.
W. L. Barclay, of Foot of Plain, Brad
ford county, spent Saturday and Sunday
with his family at this place. He reports
having twenty million ieet ot logs cut lor
next summer's sawing.
Silver Leaf Ledge. Sous of Temperance,
which started lately hero is getting along
in lirst-c'ass shape and wc trust will be
the cause of doing a great deal ol good in
the cause of temperance.

The camp is in a flourishing condition
with over a hundred members.
It is good sleighing and sleighing

When Thomas A. Morrison was dis
charged from military service in 1863 he
had but one arm with which to work
out his way in life. It was what might
: be considered a serious handicap to be
so crippled. But the Venango county
young man was not discouraged. He
did not wait for something to turn up.
He studied law and became a successful
attorney. Since 'B7 he has been oc
cupying an important judicial position
and now is elevated to a higher court.
Judge Morrison's experience has de
monstrated in a practical manner how
success may be achieved under difficul
ties and how determination and well di
rected effort may accomplish their
