When Thomas A. Morrison was dis charged from military service in 1863 he had but one arm with which to work out his way in life. It was what might : be considered a serious handicap to be so crippled. But the Venango county young man was not discouraged. He did not wait for something to turn up. He studied law and became a successful attorney. Since 'B7 he has been oc cupying an important judicial position and now is elevated to a higher court. Judge Morrison's experience has de monstrated in a practical manner how success may be achieved under difficul ties and how determination and well di rected effort may accomplish their ends.—Bradford Era.
