John E. Smith and son Grover came
up from Sterling Run on Monday and
took in the circus.
Rev. O. S. Metzler left on Monday

Mrs. John Montgomery visited her

at Austin last week.
Richard Fee, a prominent lumber
man of this county was in town on
Monday and Tuesday.
Mrs. John Feltwell, of Altoona, is

were in town 112 rom Coudersport, this

E. N. Mayo, formerly a resident of
Lumb. r Township, but now of Austin
was a pleasant caller at the PRESS
sanctum on Tuesday. Mr. Mayo ex
pects to locate at Cameron in the very
near future.
Frank Potter, a prominent hotel
man of McKean county, was guest of
C G. Catlin, at this place, Mr. Potter
was enroute to the Republican State
Convention and stopped ofl' between
trains on Monday.
j Keating, Juno 10.—Last Friday the
two crews of track layers employed by
the New York Central railroad com
pany on the West Branch Valley rail
road between Keating and Clearfield,
put down 10,250 feet of track. This is
one of the longest stretches of new track
over laid in one day. Owing to the
necessity of haying this line completed
as soon as possible, nothing is spared to
hurry the work along.

will not be a candidate for judgoin
Potter county. Had he concluded to

Kean county suits him quite well He
will remain here and devote his atten
tion to a large and lueartive law prac

President Pal ma has signed the bill
granting amnesty to all Americans
under sentence or awaiting trial in
Cuba and proceedings have been i
