Marriage is heaven or hell.
"In dealing with man, remember that
a spoonful of oil will go farther than a
gallon of vinegar." The same may be
said of children. There is nothing so
good ior children as the old-fashioned
castor oil. However much they may
abhor it, it is their best medicine for
disorders of the bowels. In the more
severe cases of diarrhoea and dysentery,
however, Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera
and Diarrhoea Remedy should be giveu
after the oil operates, and a quick cure is
sure to follow. For sale by L. Taggart.

Josh Westhafer, of Loogoetee, Ind., is

A Certain Cure for Dysentery and
Diarrhoea.
"Some years ago I was one of a party

says F. L. Taylor, of New Albany, Brad
ford Connty, Pa. "I was taken suddenly
with diarrhoea, and was about to give up
the trip, when editor Ward, of the Lacey
ville Messenger, suggested that I take u
dose of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and
Diarrhoea Remedy. I purchased a bottle
and took two doses, one before starting
and one on the route. I made the trip
successfully, and never felt any ill eftbet.
Again last summer I was almost com
pletely run down with an attack of
dysentery. I bought a bottle of this name
remedy, and this time one dose cured me."

A Communication.
Mr. Editor—Allow me to speak a few
words in favor of Chamberlain's Cough

got a bottle of this valuable medicine,
which has completely relieved me.—W.

Cartoons That Killed.
CLEVELAND, Sept. 20.— One of the
striking features of the memorial ex
ercises iu this city during the late
President's funeral was a scathing ar
raignment by the Rev. Morgan Wood,
pastor of Plymouth Congregational
Church, of yellow journalism.
"Let mo" tell you" he exclaimed,
"that the cartoonist in this city or in
New York or Chicago that occupied a
position upon any daily paper and drew
the cartoon I have in mind, among
many others, depicting William Mc-
Kinley, the man of God and the man
whose heart went out for interest of all
men, sitting upon a newly created
American throne, with a crown on his
head, a mace in his hand, wrapped in
the purple of his office, and Mark
Hanna standing as the power behind
tiie throne —that that cartoonist and the
journals that published and reproduced
the cartoon were tending to Inflame
the blood of those who have flowed
into our midst through this European
sewer. 1 trust that from this gloomy
hour on, journalism and daily press
and monthly magazines and men in
their casual, ordinary speech upon the
street corner, in public and private life
will, before they speak, think twice,
that before we paly with names of aroat
men we learn to have reverence for
their high ofiice.
"Up to la3t week, throughout this
country, the leading journals have
never spoken of him who is now our
Chief Executive in any other than tho
common, flippant, vulgar American
way, as 'Teddy Koosevelt,' but sud
denly the holt flashes from heaven and
the Chief Executive falls. The swift
footed courier speeds his way over the
Adirondacks, crying, "You are tho
President of the United States"; then
these flippant gibers must change their
vernacular—it is no longer 'Teddy
Roosevelt' in this hour of solemnity; it
is President Theodore Roosevelt.
"Ho let us cease to talk about 'Uncle
Mark' in our midst; let us cease to talk
about 'Grover Cleveland,' and of Benny
Harrison and his hat.' Let us crown
these men with respect and honor while
they are in that position, and see to it
that we do not put, men in those posi
tions who are unworthy of honor."
A Shocking Calamity

writes J)r. A. Kellett, of Williford, Ark.
"His foot was badly crushed, but Buek
lcn's Arnica Salve quickly cured him.
